Yoga for Conscious Menopause & Beyond with Ana Davis & Eve Grzybowski
9am-5.30pm, Sunday 27th October, 2019
In this inspiring one-day workshop for women, Eve and Ana will cover:
- Understanding the stages of menopause: perimenopause, menopause, and beyond (post-menopause)
- Yoga practices for menopause: Feminine Pawanmuktasana, accessible inversions and standing poses for optimal menopausal health and balance; healing feminine meditation and pranayama practices.
- Guidelines for beneficial yoga practice for all these stages, including therapeutic guidelines for recovery from hysterectomy
- Reframing our attitude towards aging as women by using self-acceptance and rites of passage to reinvent ourselves
- Setting personal intentions for self and community care as you move through the stages of menopause
This will be a day full of joy, learning, sharing, ‘aha’ moments, and of course, yoga.

The workshop is suitable for yoga practitioners and teachers alike. Some yoga experience is preferred but not essential.

Ana Davis (E-RYT 500, RPYT, Yoga Australia Registered Level 3 Senior teacher, qualified Doula, Dip. Remedial Massage, B.A. Honours) has long been passionate about exploring the benefits of yoga and meditation for women’s monthly and life cycles.
Ana has been a keen yoga practitioner since 1990, teaching yoga since 1996, and in 2005 founded Bliss Baby Yoga – offering specialised yoga teacher training courses in the areas of Prenatal, Postnatal, Restorative and Women’s Yoga. In 2013, Ana also founded Moving with the Moon which offers workshops and classes on yoga for the menstrual cycle, menopause and fertility.
Ana’s first book “Moving with the Moon: Nurturing Yoga, Movement and Meditation for Every Phase of your Menstrual Cycle” was released in late-2018 and is currently available in both print-book and E-book formats. Book launch events for ‘Moving with the Moon’ will be scheduled locally and internationally in 2019.
Ana is a lead teacher on the Bliss Baby Yoga Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course, Online Level 1 Fertility Yoga Teacher Training Course and Online L1 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training course.
Eve Grzybowski has been practising yoga for nearly 50 years and teaching for nearly 40. She founded two schools, Sydney Yoga Centre and Simply Yoga. Author of Teach Yourself Yoga and The Art of Adjustment, she also writes for yoga magazines and journals.
As a yoga teacher trainer since 1990, Eve sees training others to teach as the best way to promote the yoga’s benefits–harmony and health–in the world.

Ana Davis discusses ‘Yoga for Menstruation and Perimenopause’
Ana was delighted to be invited to be interviewed on Pregnancy Birth and Beyond radio (February 2019). With Sally Cusack from PBB radio, Ana discussed the importance of educating ourselves (and those around us) as women about the changes and ‘rites of passage’ that characterise menstruation and menopause. Ana also gave an overview of how yoga can support us through the four phases of the menstrual cycle and during the little-talked-about phase of perimenopause (the lead up to menopause).
